He didnt retire 80-0, thats the point. Its not the longest winning streak, but the best record. No one is rewriting historyComment

I bet McGregor could've beaten some of Marciano's opponents with losing records if they were the same sizeComment

Sometimes too much is made of unbeaten records. Calzaghe was 49-0, Chavez had well over 70 fights before being defeated. Does anyone really believe Calzaghe would beat a prime Roy Jones jr? Who really thinks Mayweather could beat Thomas Hearns or 'Sugar' Ray Leonard? Nobody really.
Lots of people. Both are good fights.Comment

Can you name a champion who retired undefeated and untied, with more than 50 wins? At heavyweight or any other division?I'm not going to go back and forth with you and this fanboy nonsense. It just takes one of these little midget weight fighters like roman running around with 40-0+ records to cherry pick to 53-0 or something and retirement. then, we'll be playing - fmw had a better competition at 50-0 than so and so at 53-0. 49-0 IS A DAMN HEAVYWEIGHT RECORD. I'M NOT GOING TO PLAY WITH THESE SOCIAL MEDIA REVISIONIST.
If not then it's a record that applies to all weight classes.Comment

WTF is this? 'Deserve' has nothing to do with it - yeah sure it was a money grab, a circus show - whatever you want to call it, it was still a licensed boxing match given the go-ahead and overseen the NSAC. It doesn't matter that it was debutante vs arguably the greatest boxer of his generation - you can't just pretend it didn't happen. And TBH I've a feeling McGregor would compare quite favourably to some of the stevedores and construction workers that pad out the records of many 'old time' ATGs that are so beloved by many of our historians. So ... yeah. Bull**** fight, but the idea that it can just be ignored is silly.

We not gonna count Mcgreggor but we going to count all these guys with loosing records for Marciano?
1951-04-30 Willis Applegate 11 14 2
1951-03-26 Art Henri 13 15 1
1951-03-20 Harold Mitchell 4 14 3
1951-01-29 Keene Simmons 8 8 1
1950-11-13 Ted Lowry 66 57 10
1950-12-18 Bill Wilson 43 11 2
1950-11-13 Ted Lowry 66 57 10
1950-09-18 Johnny Shkor 30 18 2
This is an 8 fight streak where Marciano only fought 1 guy with a winning record. This started when Marciano was 28-0 and 27 years old. This took him to one year before his win of the heavyweight title. Mayweather was already a multidivision multi lineal world champion at the same time in his career. The same time period took Mayweather through his first fights at 140 up to 147 before his lineal unification there.
I think its safe to say DeMarcus Corley is a better opponent than a factory worker who is 8-8-1.
Mayweather cant get one give me fight? People dont know how atrocious marciano's record was.Comment

lol calzaghe didnt have 49 fights you tard. "most people dont know **** about boxing" is very true. You are talking a lot but its obvious you werent even watching boxing 10 years ago when calzaghe was fighting or you would know this.Sometimes too much is made of unbeaten records.
Mayweather has very good chances vs both Hearns and SRL and that is saying something that he started 4 weight classes below them.Comment
