Or am I just, you know, talking crazzzyyyy here with my basic common sense? Then again, I don't think Virgil cares about making sense at this point, I think he just cares about making headlines. Best to ignore this, just like with his boxer, until actual best-vs-best fights, and entertainment for the fans, becomes more of a priority for them, rather than defending money grabs while turning down every single opponent in their own careers that doesn't represent a money grab where they get paid way more money than their boring, dirty boxing style brings in.
Should we begin comparing who they fought at the 30 fight mark? He mentions that Marciano fought 3 guys in a row with losing records. Mayweather hasn't fought anyone with a losing record since like his 9th fight.
Again, I see what you're saying, but it should definitely count for the record.

Sometimes too much is made of unbeaten records. Calzaghe was 49-0, Chavez had well over 70 fights before being defeated. Does anyone really believe Calzaghe would beat a prime Roy Jones jr? Who really thinks Mayweather could beat Thomas Hearns or 'Sugar' Ray Leonard? Nobody really.
