Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: I've Asked the WBC to Let Me Fight Ortiz Anyway

Deontay Wilder hasn't ruled out moving forward with his fight against Luis Ortiz. In the most recent video the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion posted to his Instagram account, Wilder revealed that he has asked the WBC to allow him to fight Ortiz on November 4 despite that the Cuban contender has tested positive for two banned substances, diuretics Ortiz claims were prescribed to control high blood pressure. The WBC wouldn't allow Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) to fight mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin once Povetkin tested positive for meldonium in May 2016, but Wilder hopes that won't be the case this time.

The WBC excused Francisco Vargas's positive test before the Salido fight and they excused Bermane Stiverne's positive test before he was supposed to fight Povetkin.

If Bronze Bomber wants to go through with this, then they can use the previous precedents that they've set to excuse Ortiz too. We all know Ortiz is likely a walking chem lab like Povetkin was. But what can you do if 90% of this division is on roids? You just gotta knock these dirty ****s out anyway.

EDIT: I forgot to add the WBC allowing Erik Morales to fight Danny Garcia in their rematch after he pissed hot in an USADA test.

They better let him fight Ortiz, no one wants to see him fight Stiverne again.

These idiots shouldve known anyway that wbc wont allow it & that this cheating bîtch ortiz wont want to anymore anyways since no belt if he survives ass whooping.

Honestly I don't think Ortiz deserves the fight now. If the fight does still go ahead I'll be flat-out rooting for Wilder to knock him out now whereas before I was neutral on who I wanted to win.

he wins either way... if he doesnt fight, he loses none of the little credibility he has due to ortiz being a rampant drug fiend. if he loses... much of the same, and if he wins he'll be known as DW the almight black destroyer of worlds, fearer of no steroid, conqueror of all dirty boxers..

                    That's if he's lucky.

                    He might get killed.
