The WBC wouldn't allow Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) to fight mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin once Povetkin tested positive for meldonium in May 2016, but Wilder hopes that won't be the case this time.

Wilder must be happy this is what he wanted, Ortiz bought nothing to the table but an easy win. Take the money from Hearn to fight Whyte simple, stop f--ing about it will be your biggest payday by far.

Strong move. hope they let him. At least he's finally saying whatever to get a good fight. Not his fault.

Wilder also had two fights where he was coming off a broken hand and surgery, so didn't want a big fight after that. He now has 3 fights where his opponent tested dirty.

In addition to that, several guys have turned him down. Martin, T. Fury, H. Fury, Wlad K., to name a few. Hearn promised him the Joshua fight but then said Joshua had to fight Pulev. Parker hasn't shown much interest either.

His over-all resume is weak, but not all his fault. How many guys has Wilder turned down? None that I know of.
