EDIT: That also means that Ward would come back if the money showed up. Maybe if we get someone to emerge from the Bivol-Beterbiev-Gvozdyk LHW triangle. Maybe if Bellew wins another title at CW. Maybe if a smaller boxer wins a title at HW.

In professional boxing, Unification describes a fight between two fighters who hold different belts under the jurisdiction of two different governing bodies.
The International Boxing Organisation (IBO) (MINOR)
The Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) (MINOR)
The Global Boxing Union (GBU) (MINOR)
The World Boxing Federation (WBF) (MINOR)
The Boxing Union of Ireland (BUI) (MINOR)
The European Boxing Union (EBU) (MINOR)
+ The International Boxing Federation (IBF) (MAJOR)
+ The World Boxing Association (WBA) (MAJOR)
+ The World Boxing Council (WBC) (MAJOR)
+ The World Boxing Organisation (WBO); went from minor to major in the late 1990s
In professional boxing, if one fighter manages to capture the titles of "ALL THE MAJOR ORGANISATIONS AT ONCE", this is known as "unifying" the title and the boxer is the "Undisputed" champion. The Undisputed champion of a weight class is a boxer who is recognized as "The World Champion" at that class by each boxing organization.

The process of making Unification fights, is to create Undisputed division leaders. However, most unified boxers fail to become Undisputed, because of losses, promotional disputes or networks rivalry. But there's one unhandsome factor which is called "Ducking".
Example: No losses, no promotional disputes, no networks rivalry, but you retire claiming there was not enough money to make anyhow, in the only fight which would set you up as the Undisputed division leader.
*This right here, it's Andre Ward ducking Adonis Stevenson.
