At least Ward should have fought Beterbiev before retiring.

They couldn't use the Showtime excuse either since Ward only signed a three fight contract with HBO and had concluded that contract.
This is a blatant duck. I mean we heard it in the Kovalev 2 post fight interview how Ward already tried to avoid Stevenson questions, and then in the post fight press conference and interviews after he kept trying to swerve those questions and/or downplay Stevenson as a credible opponent (yet he was tryna fight Bellew, a Stevenson KO victim).
Ward ducked Stevenson, and so did Kovalev. There is no two ways about it.

He only had four bouts at the weight, but in those four he dominated highly regarded contender Sullivan Barrera and picked up back to back wins over former division ruler Sergey Kovalev.

Fighting Stevenson in Canada would be huge....dude fights before packed houses regardless the opponent.
Andre didn't want to get laid-out.

Guys just stop talking about him, or commenting on articles about him. I'm only commenting to say that, then I will follow my own advice. Don't help him follow in Floyd's cowardly footsteps and use a fake retirement to help him duck, cherry pick, manipulate and damage the sport even more than he already has. Just let him go away quietly. He's made a lot of money in the sport, and he has a nice family, so let him exit the sport quietly and I hope he and his family live great lives off the money he made from corrupt boxing matches, and that no more damage to the sport will be done by him. But the more articles we post about him, and the more comments we make about him, the more likely it is that he will come back and do even more damage to a sport whose stewards seem obsessed with revolving it around him whenever he expresses the slightest interest in being orbited. So let's stop talking about him, and hope he does not feel the need to be orbited again in the future, since we know both Showtime and HBO will be tripping over themselves to do just that the moment Ward decides he wants that again.
Ward had a great, amazing, all time great career... ahem ahem ahem... just amazing, great, totally complete career, ahem ahem, that doesn't need anything else, that doesn't need any more fights, that isn't lacking anything, ahem, it's just totally complete and perfect and Great the way it is, so let's celebrate this... amazing... ahem... career, and let this All Time Great, ahem, retire and leave the sport in peace... and quiet...
