  • DiBella: "Deontay Wilder vs Bermane Stiverne Is Most Likely Next"

Bermane Stiverne, whom Wilder won the WBC title from in 2015, who was also scheduled to be on the November 4 card in Brooklyn, will most likely be elevated to replace Ortiz said promoter DiBella.

If this fight happens will showtime even broadcast it? They didn't want to pick it up before so I doubt they'll broadcast it now.. 99% of people who were excited for Wilder v Ortiz and were willing to travel for the fight will not be travelling if Wilder fights Stiverne.

Dillian Whyte called out Wilder and said he'd happily take the fight on short notice and give Wilder a career high payday. Hearn reached out to Wilder's team trying to make the fight but they'd rather fight Stiverne.

It's already on the schedule now. Been there about 3 weeks.

That's Wilder vs Ortiz with Stiverne on the undercard.. No network wants Stiverne vs Wilder so if they fight him it don't think it will be televised.

Nobody wants to see this fight lets be honest. Whyte would be a better pick

Why not Parker? Even fat bum Whyte is better?

Wilder pitched a shut out against Stiverne, probably the only time he looked really good boxing wise, we don't want to see a rematch to this crap.

It's already there tho. That slot is filled with a Boxing event. They can put a movie or series in that place but it's open with programing SHO chose to show.

Thread title suggests a direct quote from DiBella. Thread contents not so much?

I hope it's someone better. I know it's 5 weeks away which rules out some possibilities, but still hoping something gets worked out that is a little bit appealing/exciting. Particularly if they already paid Stiverne his step-aside money, be crazy for him to get paid twice for the same fight, especially as he's likely to give the same limited effort as last time. I know the mandatory situation is still gonna be there, but at least the winner of Stiverne-Breazeale would've legit earned a shot at Wilder.

Also let's not forget that Stiverne failed a drug test before also so this problem could happen yet again before their rematch.

Yeah Stivernie stepped aside for Ortiz ONLY so if the Ortiz fight don't get resolved then they don't have a choice

Adam Kownacki as a replacement opponent for Dominic Breazeale would be Great!

They have plenty of time to Salvage this Card IF the Ortiz thing doesn't get worked out!
