Comments Thread For: Bernard Hopkins: Canelo Will Beat Golovkin EASY in Rematch!

Future Hall of Famer and Golden Boy shareholder Bernard Hopkins was very impressed with Canelo Alvarez's performance against Gennady Golovkin on September 16th. The blockbuster pay-per-view event took place in front of a record crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The two boxers fought to a controversial twelve round split draw. The final scores were 115-113 for Golovkin, 114-114 and Adalaide Byrd's infamous 118-110 score for Alvarez.

GGG will walk him down again. Land more punches and walk through canelo's again. Canelo will avoid engaging with GGG again. Only difference is canelo will have 8 months ring rust and GGG will have been active.

Fine .. so stop stalling and get the rematch on. No need to wait till May next year. This fight doesn't need to happen on a Mexican holiday to make money.

Sure he will Hopkins. Hopkins also predicted that Canelo would win the first fight easy and as we all saw (although some won't admit it) ggg won pretty clearly. There's no fixing stamina at this stage of the game and Canelo will tire out again and get outworked for the majority of the rematch as well. Canelo can't keep up with the pace that ggg sets so it will never be "easy"

The judges saw GGG winning “easy?”

no the judges didn't obviously, but that's to be expected when you face Canelo. Judges had him competitive vs mayweather when he really wasn't and judges had him winning "easy" vs trout, Lara, and Cotto when that wasn't the case. Canelo doesn't beat any top fighter "easy" . He beat khan, beefy Smith and Chavez jr easy but they aren't really top guys.
