Comments Thread For: Verdejo Drops in WBO Rankings, Beltran in Line For Flanagan

More bad luck for Puerto Rican lightweight star Felix "Diamante" Verdejo. The undefeated pugilist was removed from the top position under the rankings of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) rankings. He was dropped all the way to the sixth position. Dangerous contender Raymundo Beltran is now sitting in the mandatory slot, which puts him in line for a crack at WBO lightweight king Terry "Turbo" Flanagan of the UK.

It's a good thing, a loss without taking a loss. I guess the bribe money is running short, the protection is fading. Step up time, can't be a prospect forever.

It's crazy how much Verdejo has fallen. I remember after the 2012 Olympics he was the most talked about fighter/Olympian in the US.

I've always questioned him and criticized him harshly in the past, but I don't to see the guy fail.
I think he could bring some sort of excitement with PR crowd and what not.
It just keeps looking worse and worse for him as the time goes by though.

            Terry Flanagan is doomed.

What a great story for Beltran to not only beat this euro-bum for a world title but also have that victory validate his case to the department of Homeland & Security in order to win his Citizenship in the greatest country on earth ( U.S.A ) -- and how Ironic that he would have to go to foreign soil to achieve such a dream.

Bit strange that he's dropped to 6 after he was a month away from a title shot and Flanagan pulled out injured. I know the WBO is Puerto Rican so that makes it just strange.

Damn, Verdejo just can't seem to catch a break! (No pun intended).

I think Beltran may still have enough left in the tank to beat Flanagan but his last fight left much to be desired then again he was inactive!

The Beltran that fought last time won't beat Flanagan if The fight is in the UK!

The bribe money hasn't run out. Beltran is with Top Rank too. Bob has been talking about getting him a title shot for a while now.

If he beats Flanagan, expect to see Loma move up to 135 to fight Beltran.
