Johnny was my favorite boxer growing up. He had the heart of a lion and it's great to see him being honored.

He's borderline but i have no problem with him being in the hall of fame, he's deserving. Three division champion, even tho his win against Medina was questionable. Arguable the best super flyweight in boxing history. He lost two decisions to Ayala which a lot of people felt he should have won. If he wins both Ayala fights he would have been undefeated for a total of fourteen years. Great action fighter who can box and move. I think he has a case.

Tapia was a great boxer, totally deserving of history's recognition. Keeping up with that level of boxing ability while affected by the kind of problems he had means that he would have been an all-time great had he been clean.

Yep. More fans need to look at it that way. The guy was definitely a warrior who gave it all in every fight. Even with all those demons he had to deal with daily.

An amazing boxer with skills up there with the best ever fighters when he was in his prime. I loved his spirit, his heart and his ability in the ring.

He was a troubled soul, for many reasons besides drug abuse, with a heart of gold. His life was unlike any others.

This is a fitting honor for Johnny Tapia.
