So is GGG the face of boxing now?

I mean, everyone claims he was robbed and the "world" sees him as the clear winner(according to his rabid fanbase). So does that mean that he is now also seen as the clear star of the boxing world?

Personally, I don't see much change in people's perception towards him. If anything, his last 2 fights have gone a full 12 rounds and his own fanbase are blaming it on him aging. So I suppose beating up a hype job in Canelo has done nothing for his star power.

Thoughts? Is GGG now a global star since he beat Canelo so clearly? Or is his buzz just the same or lukewarm after having a close fight with a hype job?

I think GGG needed to add Canelo on his KO reel in order to increase his star-power. He was very fortunate to walk out with the belts.

Golovkin just sold 2million+ PPVs and the whole world saw him beat Canelo clearly. So yes, he is definitely the face of boxing now.

Yes, he deserved to be p4p#1 over andre mr 93k ward, he did 2mil buys and is now the PPV king. Ward better take a flat fee if he ever wants to fight him.

No, Canelo is still the face of Boxing.

Put them on individual PPVs and Canelo's will still sell more.
