    Hearns cleared things up. Bivol got promoted from interim to WBA Champion. This fight is his 1st defence, not fighting for a vacant title

            Pretty standard for the WBA to promote the interim champion when the Regular vacates. Happened to Golovkin, Thurman and Lara off the top of my head. Their first defences weren't that great.

            Golovkin - Unranked Tapia
            Thurman - No11 Guerrero
            Lara - No10 Ishe Smith

            Andre Ward hasn't officially vacated yet, remains to be seen if they order another fight for the WBA Super

                Sturm didn't vacate when Golovkin got promoted. Sturm was still the WBA champion.

                        He should talk to his Promoter Bob Arum................I mean Main event (Kathy Duva), They would know something about it. This was like GGG trying to get a shot at Felix Strum in germany (Same promoter but no fight.)

                            Golovkin was as much a champion at that time as Daniel Jacobs was before fighting Golovkin. Did anyone consider Jacobs the WBA champion?

                                That's got nothing to do with this. Wards still the WBA Super Champion now, he aint vacated yet. Mayweather was Super Champion when Thurman and Lara were both promoted from Interim to Regular
