Quite right. I doubt the people who vote on the inductees even reference previous P4P stats. The P4P rankings are purely subjective listings at any particular time, but many of the criteria used in placing boxers in P4P lists during their active careers will be similar to the criteria used later in determining whether they are inducted into the HOF - so the two will be quite highly correlated, but one doesn't necessarily reference the other.

Just wish everyone saw boxing as it is rather than how they want it to be.

He beat Hopkins in 1993. Hopkins was no where near as good as would become. And RJJ would never make that rematch, though the entire boxing world clamored for that fight for over five years.

He beat Toney in 1994. This is 2017. So he had two good wins over 20 years ago.

Then once he was recognized as p4p #1 he fought no one. After Montel Griffin rematch he did not have another meaningful fight until Ruiz.

Ward had many more wins over quality opponents. So did Mayweather.

As for Wlad, he fought who was there, which was no one that could compete with him. Still, the ko losses early and the fact that Vitali was probably better, puts him in a toss up with RJJ. Who's fans make the argument that two wins over 20 years ago should put him in. Either one doesn't really matter to me, but Ward and May are clearly ahead of both.

Its a BOXING hall of fame, Ward won a Gold Medal, and went UNDEFEATED in professional boxing, TBE beat more champions than ANYONE (and went UNDEFEATED), richesT fighter in "prize" fighting history, ENTIRE TOP 5 FOR PPV'S, Roy is the the only fighter to go from 154 as champion to heavyweight champion, and Klitschko was the dominant heavyweight champion of this era.....But if roy gets the opportunity to fight for a cruiserweight championship or fight a MMA fighter, he will fight again...or they should make an exception or the Hall has NO merit. Yeah, it's gotta be Mayweather, Jones, & Klitschko.

Mayweather & Jones are the 2 greatest fighters of the past 30 years.

Klitschko, though not as great as Ward, Marquez, or Mosley, dominated the most important division in the sport for 10 years.

2nd longest HW champion in history. That trumps everything, I'm sorry.

The 2022 class is gonna be so good, that the 2023 class of the 2022 rejects is also gonna be one of the great classes of all-time.

No doubt Pacquiao would be in. Bradley and Cotto wouldn't even be in the conversation. Bradley will be in the year before (last fight in 2016) and Cotto just isn't close to the fighters already mentioned in the thread.

He's not better at losing his biggest fights. I'll give you that. Cotto is probably TBE at that.
