Ah Laawwdd!!!! Poor baby Treeeple Geee no more able to make quick work of inferior competition.

The most devastating puncher we've seen in decades, according to Jim, is no longer knocking people out so we have to prematurely write his obituary to make sense of it all. Maybe he... Just. Wasn't. That. Good.

    Back to you JIM!!

Of course he's slipping as he gets older. But his performance wasn't mostly due to slippage. He's actually surprisingly strong at his age. I watched GGG's older fights against Monroe and Stevens, he was getting hit occasionally back then too. The difference is his opponents caved under GGG's pressure and didn't have the defense and counter punch ability Canelo has. The advantage of GGG's style is that he negates pure boxing skill with smothering, aggression and jabbing. Just because he didn't dominate Canelo doesn't mean he's not a great fighter or he's suddenly declined very quickly. These guys act like Canelo is just another guy

True but trust me as far as racist, welfare collecting, excuse making underachieving haters are concerned....he's white.

I believe this is overblown....I think Jacobs just exposed him so his opponents game plans going forward will be better. Not so much GGG as the level of his last two opponents.

              agreed.

golovkin was looking to overpower canelo if nothing else. he was fighting trying to outweigh and over power him rather then focusing on skill and cutting off the ring. all he cared about was weight weight weight i am bigger then you power power power. it sorta back fired........

Golovkin is what he always has been. It's just that now he is finally facing elite level opponents.

Of course he's slipping somewhat, he's 35. Who doesn't? People slow down, it's human nature. A lot of guys have retired by that age.

He's also fighting better guys, so some of the stuff that worked for him previous, isn't now against classier guys.

That said, he just arguably and by most people's reckoning, beat one of the top guys around in his last outing, so he sure hasn't slipped that much. It's not all about KO's.

Which idol is this supposed to be?

Golovkin looked spectacular when he was knocking out lesser competition. It took a WW, a cancer patient, and guy with stamina issues to show that he's not the monster everyone made him out to be. I'm sure the guy you think is my idol would make easy work out of him.

How many pressure fighters have been at their best at 35? None, as far as I can think of.
