Hope this works well for Jacobs, it would be good to see more of him in the mix. GGG is old and must be thinking of retiring soon, and Jacobs can pick himself up a bit of the world title pie.Comment

This has nothing to do with Matchroom taking fighters to HBO. I've been in these message boards trying to explain to people that Haymon has certain guys (not you, or at least i don't recall an exchange with you) that operate outside of the PBC framework due to having a different contractual relationship with Al than most of his fighters. Danny just happens to be one of those guys (Khan and Mikey are a few others).WOW.....So does this mean Eddie Hearns is about to bring Matchroom Boxing exclusively to HBO? If so this is a very smart move by Eddie Hearns and HBO.
Also Danny Jacobs departing from Showtime is a big deal as well. So the majority of Middleweights are now with HBO outside of Charlo which eventually he's going to have to go that direction as well since thats where the money is at and champions.
Great deal for all 3 parties.
Eddie won't be moving any of his HW guys away from Showtime. He's just a shrewd promoter (I think far and away the best in the sport today). His HWs have to stay in position to make the "payday" fights in the US he keeps claiming will happen. He's done this deal for several reasons:
1. He's setting up AJ's domestic conquest by getting some built up ethos in the US and particularly Vegas; 2. Danny has to go to HBO (like he's already done) to get the MW fights he wants and Eddie is just getting the best deal for his new client; 3. I expect BJS is in the mix somewhere here. Warren and Eddie probably have already chatted about a potential scrap.
You raise an interesting question about Charlo. I don't expect to see him follow tbh. Unfortunately I expect all Showtime work for him.Comment
