This young man is not very smart. I'd be curious to see how long Mayweather will stick with him. Unfortunately he's his best chance to have a genuine star under his promotional banner.

The other unfortunate thing is boxing history is filled with characters like Davis. This kinda of reputation doesn't necessarily hurt his career but will probably make him more marketable if he can back it up in the ring. It's sad to see him go this route though.

Guys you are all blowing this way out of proportion. I was there. From what I saw, the old lady attacked him. The only reason Gervonta ended up with her purse was because he disarmed her and then ran fearing for his own safety..

That's good news. I say that because when I first glanced at the article title, I thought it said, "Gervonta Davis Facing First Degree Murder Charge."

He sounds like an idiot when he speaks. Doesn't articulate his words very well at all.

I remember the last year when he was trying to move Gervonta out of Baltimore, I don't remember the names but I know a lot of posters sided with Gervonta, why?! I was one of those who said it's a great initiative by Floyd. I can't stand Floyd for many reasons, but even those who hate him should applaud Floyd for his determination and discipline. I'm sure he knows best what it takes for a young talent to build a successful career. It's not his fault that he can't get these wild street youngsters to listen to him. I'm sure he's trying his best to keep them on the right track, but he can only do much.
It's not what he says to Davis or Broner, it's what they see. They see how he lives, how he treats people, how he gets away with shyt, and it resonates with them. They want to emulate him. Off camera Floyd is even worse.but he is well insulated and his money keeps him on e fringe of it all without anything coming back to directly harm him.

Figure of speech I suppose. Davis and the Law will be tied at the hip. Davis will be mentored by Broner in the future.
