Golden Boy isn't getting money from ESPN only from sponsorships, according to Dan Rafael. http://cdn.espn.go.com/boxing/story/...next-two-years

of course they are low budget this is basically a replacement for the old ESPN2 Friday Night Fights series. While on major ESPN top rank is expending a lot more money so is ESPN on making fights that would typically go to HBO or HBO PPV. Same with FS1 fights on Tuesdays is a much lower budget type fights then the bigger network PBC fights. Golden Boy using this series to get their prospects exposure and experience and gate keeper type fights on ESPN2 while their bigger fights going to HBO and PPV.

Top Rank cut ties with HBO so they have financial backing to send their top fights to ESPN instead. The budgets for these type fights are no where near the same so why would you think the level of the fights would be the same? Lomachenko and Crawford each got paid more money then probably the entire budget for all the Golden Boy cards this year for ESPN.

Why aren't we getting Soto Karass vs Sadam Ali? I don't know nothing about Abreu and he isn't signed to the banner. Sadam needs a fighter like Karass or Herrera next to get him back to world title contention.

SMH.....on this fight. Starting to get disappointing fights. I wonder if Golden Boy Promotions might have too many dates to deal with.

I think that is the cards gbp were saying were gonna be on espn. Their bigger cards are on hbo and ppv. Where as top ranks plan is have all their fights broadcast on espn and espn ppv.

Thanks Dr. Obvious. My initial question was I wonder what the difference is between both deals because one keeps putting on their best product, and the other does not. That question was answered (thanks to the guys who provided the link)
