Probably because Ward retired as an undefeated champion.

I don't hate on Ward, but that would be my assumption.

Not a big fan of Ward myself but I respect what he did and got out early. I don't understand why his haters are mad. They never have to see him fight again, why aren't they happy?

I like Ward, but too big but of a fan either, I always preferred Kovalev.

If Ward lost to Kovalev and retired after, the same people who are mad now would be celebrating how Kovalev retired Ward.

His haters won't get the chance to see Ward get beat by anyone now. Plus a lot of people who hate Ward also hate Floyd a lot, so it's like seeing Floyd retiring undefeated all over again.

They wanted to see him retire defeated like the pantomime villain in a movie.

Because they won't seem him loose.

Ward was a dirty fecker but he was an intelligent fighter, I don't blame dirty fighters and clinchers for doing what they do (unless you are a Huck type of dirty) if the opponent is good enough they should be able to do the same or counter that action...that's what I always said about Wlad, he became a clincher but all his opponents didn't seem to mind to hug it out with him because they could just blame the clinching on their loss, rather that make it aggressive and f1ck him up on the inside...Look at Loma, when he wants to he has no problem braking a clinch.

I didn't enjoy watching him, but the man at the end of the day was a TOP 3 lb4lb fighter when he was active in my opinion.

And I made money on him on both Kova fights, even though I think he lost the first.

I do think he will come back though, once someone at 175 becomes a name and money is there, he will be back for a fight.
