Who ranks higher all-time: Andre Ward or Joe Calzaghe?

I think it's very clearly Joe Calzaghe.

    - he left his home country to fight
    - he defeated a better, undefeated version of Kessler WITHOUT using illegal tactics
    - he had more fights, over a longer period of time
    - he received no gift decisions, winning all his fights clearly
    - he never stopped anyone with low blows and the help of a crooked referee

    Joe won without cheating.

He also brought fans to their feet with his action style.

    Joe Calzaghe without a doubt.

I like Calzaghe but his open Palm slapping is an illegal tactic also his win over Hopkins is kind of debatable. I think Wards wins over Froch and Sergey are a bit better than Kessler and Lacy.

Ward is superior resume wise and in a fantasy H2H, I'd back Ward over Calzaghe any day and this is coming from someone in the UK

Lot's of people had it Calzaghe over B-hop. The result was 60-40 in the scorecards to Calzaghe compared to Andre Ward-Kovalev which was a land slide in favor to Kovalev.

As someone who has talked his fair share of crap about Andre Ward because I think he's a diva and refuses to understand what that its his entitled attitude and boring style that makes him unpopular and not his skin tone. But Ward was the better and more skilled boxer. And his resume is better. Calzaghe stayed at 168 for almost his entire career and didn't move up until much later for money fights against Hopkins and a shot RJJ (can't believe that mofo is still fighting all those years later). Ward moved up and challenged the divisions killer. Say what you want about his victories over Kovalev in 20 years boxrec.com will still have Ward 2-0 over him.

It even close. Ward challenged himself, Calzaghe hid out in England and then fought ancient Hopkins and Jones. Ward took on all comers at 168 and then moved to 175 to fight the best there.
