If Kovalev genuinely felt like he won against Ward or that Ward needed the ref, he wouldn't be fighting Shabranskyy who was knocked out by Barrera. He would most likely be fighting Barrera who has significant momentum and is under the Main Event Banner. Unless Kov strings some wins together, he should let the Ward fights go.

Great point! Why is Kovalev fighting Shabransky instead of Barerra? Main Events must know that Kov won't beat Barerra! I wanted to see Kov vs. Bivol, Gvozdyk, Barerra, or Joe Smith Jr.! All those guys fight on HBO, so I don't understand where Shabransky entered the picture?

I thought Kovalev won the first fight on a close decision but Ward had worked him out by the end of the fight. I predicted Ward would win the 2nd fight but not by KO!
Kovalev should have got the nod in the first fight even though it was a close fight.

Because he is a cluck cluck. Stevenson fight could be had if Kovalev bends the knee. But he is shook on that.

LOL @ these ******ed Ward fans. Kovalev's knock down was a bigger punch than anything Ward landed... the Ref would have stopped the fight if Kova got dropped the way Ward did...

Black Refs seem to be extremely biased towards Black fighters... Floyd and Ward definitely come to mind...
