A lot of people spent so much time on whether or not there were low blows in the last fight they didn't notice what a bad look it was Kovalev sitting on the ropes. That was the sign of a defeated man. I'm not in his mind so I take him at his word that he isn't broken mentally. If he was apprehensive in the second fight, it will be even worst in the next fight because he knows Ward doesn't hit like a woman. He knows Ward can hurt him.

Sounds ****ed. He needs a solid trainer now more than ever. Maybe he doesn't realize it, but a trainer would help him figure out what that "something" is.

Kind of up there with 'I am not thinking of running for President', which means they are.

I dislike Kovalev as a person but I like him as a fighter (except for how he behaved at the end of the 2nd Ward fight). I hope he returns strong though he's good for boxing IMO.

Yeah.. he's fighting without a trainer, after a horrible perforamnce, against a guy who badly needs a win? I wont be surprised if he loses and retires.

He was hurt in that round with Ward and looked like he was getting broken down - but that stoppage was based on a low blow clearly... And Kova clearly won the first night and hurt and dropped Ward.. So going 1 and 1 with Ward is no reason to be mentally broken down... if you read the posters on this site, you would think Kova was laid out like Pac against Marquez...

He's getting older now and knows that Ward is better than him, so he's just going to accept being second best in the division and then retire probably.

                    WTF was this???
Maybe he had an existential crisis during the fight and realized that he wasn't going to win no matter what he did...

That was a joke, but let's be real: he won that first fight. He wasn't going to win that fight unless he knocked Ward out. It definitely has to shake your confidence to know that no matter how good you fight, you're not going to win a decision.

You lost a very close 1st fight. And quit the second. Ward is just better. Go after Adonis
