I feel like a good course of action would be to demote judges, until they show enough consistency to get opportunities at judging title fights. At least if some judges are corrupt, they'll only see one payday every few years.

If the goal was good judging, that's what they'd do, but you have to understand the refs and judges get assignments based on how well they do what their boss tells them to do. Robert Byrd fixed the fight for the home team in Kovalev-Ward II, so they rewarded him by letting him ref Mayweather-Mcgregor, and letting his wife judge Canelo-GGG. Kenny Bayless always gets the most assignments because he protected Mayweather all those years, and always let him hold and use forearms and everything else.

On the flipside, guess who was iced for years? Tony Weeks, because he let Maidana get too physical with Floyd in Floyd-Maidana I. Because of that, they gave him no big assignments for years, until a fight came along where it was actually in the interest of the home team to have a hands off ref who let anything go. So they finally gave him another big fight, Ward-Kovalev I, where they wanted him to let all the wrestling go. This time, he did exactly like they wanted, so they quickly gave him another assignment this time as reward, I forget the fight but it was a recent one.

That's how it works. You don't just not get "benched" for bad scores or reffing, you get rewarded. They want you to do that. Byrd just went too far this time is all. Maybe someone got their wires crossed. Who knows. But there is a clear pattern where the refs who are fair, and don't help the house fighter, get benched, while the ones who are corrupt, and help the house fighter, are constantly rewarded.

The difference in that case was that Magdaleno whooped Donaire easily. No way in hell did Donaire win that fight, I don't wanna hear that at all.

I gave it to 7-5 Magdaleno. Donaire was a shadow of his former self in that fight.

No problem with a scorecard for Canelo, edged it with sweet science, sometimes not that sweet. But yeah, wasn't ten rnds to two, no way. Six or seven to five, can see that. Subjective scoring sport, commentary, bias, which style you prefer can all influence who you saw winning.
