He was a 154 lbr., just the way you and Sanchez like them. Why no mention of him? You're supposed to be a superstar everyone fears - how about you finally man up and call out Andre Ward, you know, the guy at 168 you avoided like the plague - even at a catchweight? That is guaranteed to never happen. Just keep lining up those old welterweights and lt. middleweights. The suckers will keep buying into it and singing your praises.
Is 180+ pound Daniel Jacobs an "old welterweight"? What about Stevens who came down from 168 and was destroying guys at 160 once he was able to squeeze down to that weight? What about David Lemieux who has missed 160 before because he's such a big middleweight?

I agree with you though that the hype train is running thin, but that's only because the talent is running thin. GGG is aging fast. They wanted to make the Saunders fight two years ago because GGG would have KO'd him. Now maybe they're not so sure. GGG is pushing his punches these days. He still just beat the two best middleweights besides himself, though. And before that, the third, Lemieux. Canelo's hand speed looked spectacular now that he's peaking and at his natural weight class. Stamina dependent as always with Canelo, I would now pick him to beat Jermall Charlo and Jacobs both. Before this fight, I would have said the opposite. So even old, slow GGG just beat, in my opinion, the #2 middleweights at the time two fights in a row, and two guys heavier than him, to speak on your size critique.

So you know, don't hate on him completely. That's very impressive, I just wish we'd seen these fights during his prime.

Wow, I didn't think Triple G would fight on a quick turn around 2 1/2 months later in December.

Question is will Cotto agree to fight at 160 or would Triple G agree to fight at 154 or a catchweight? My guess is no for both Cotto and Triple G.

But we will see how this all plays out.

So, Cotto won his title against handicapped, old, out of his prime Martinez at middleweight, and all his fan base were talking about Cotto's performance that night as though he had faced formidable opposition (my grandma could have beat Martinez that night).... Cotto went on to defend his title against Gale.... If I'm not mistaken this was at a catch weight... all of cotto's demands to his favor... plus Gale had always been a C class fighter... He than fights Canelo.... and he lost... now people are talking about having GGG go down to 154.... hahahahahha... at this point GGG is the "A" side as cotto would say... anyway... the moment Cotto stops being the "A" side... he wants no part of the opponent... the fight will not happen because the diva Cotto will not let it happen...

This actually could be the best shot cotto has to win. Ggg might have a let down with such a quick turn around following 2 big fights. Similar to how cotto had a let down vs trout following his fights with Margarito and mayweather. Ggg probably still stops cotto though.

I must have missed the part where they called out cotto...
Wasnt it cotto calling out both Nelo and G? Both guys would take that fight in a heartbeat because its a good payday and relatively easy fight. As for Charlo Ward Jacobs those are all great fights, Ward being the most appealing. That ship has sailed though Wards not coming down from 175 and Gs not going past 168. if by some miracle it happens great i wouldnt hold my breath though. As far as Jacobs and Charlo go, also great fights. G already beat Jacobs but it was a good fight so why not go again. however its not that the public is demanding and i suspect that the few that are would not be clamoring for a rematch if jacobs had won. charlo would be another great fight but it high risk low reward at the moment. he brings no belts and no money to the table same goes for jacobs. sucks but money dictates this sport dont be naive

I think Golovkin is very good, so good that even now, he is still winning.
2-3 years ago he would have killed them all.
And I still think that if a rematch is Made by May, Golovkin will win by going to the body and K Out Canelo.

I even rooted against Golovkin, but I am not a hater (except for those who dishonor and damage the sport of boxing) and Golovkin has proved me wrong.

Saunders is finally willing to fight GGG, and Saunders is a MW champion, so why are we talking about Cotto? Of course I'm being sarcastic! GGG is "business man" just like everyone else! He knows Cotto brings in more money than BJ Saunders, Jacobs, or Charlo! I'm not mad at him. Just stop being a hypocrite!
Why would he want to fight Cotto? Its not just about the money you drama queen. Cotto is a future hall of famer. If that has even the slightest possibility of going down it makes sense to pursue it. But its only a slight chance so the priority should be other people like Billy Joe Saunders. And that is what will wind up happening.

Cotto mentioned he wanted to fight the winner. He brought it up. Stop looking for drama where there isn't you fool.
