Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Crowd Booed Canelo For Talking So Much **** - He Ran!

Gennady Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez has criticised judge Adalaide Byrd for her 118-110 scorecard in favour of Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night. Triple G and Canelo put on a fantastic show at the T-Mobile Arena, with both men having success in a captivating back-and-forth contest. When it went to the scorecards, Byrd's was read out first, followed by 115-113 for Golovkin from Dave Moretti, and Don Trella's 114-114 to result in a split decision draw.

Crowd clearly did not think Canelo deserved even a draw. Booed the draw and booed Canelo.

And you have to think it was a big Mexican crowd also, but Canelo fought running so, not going to win a lot of Mexican fans doing that.

Said to be 18,000 out of 20,000, don't know if that's true or not.

Everyone knew they had just seen a close fight so when the 118-110 card was read out first, it insulted everyone there.

But for sure, a primarily Mexican crowd cheering Golovkin and booing Canelo at the end - that was shocking. Not sure I've seen that before, and pretty sure Canelo hasn't. Of all things in the fight, that would have hurt him more than anything Golovkin landed.

Can never figure out why boxers never do the smart thing and say something like 'I gave it everything I had tonight and it wasn't enough, I just want to apologise to my fans for not bringing the belts home to Mexico'. He could have also just said 'I also want to apologise for that scorecard, it insults everyone here, Gennady, my team, and also me'.

If he had done that the crowd would have cheered him. Easy.

Instead, the crowd got insulted, and he effectively endorsed the insult. Not smart.

Ggg team should stfu with their excuses. They said countless times they needed the knockout and Abel even mentioned "If we dont get the knockout and we dont get the win then its OUR FAULT"

They assured they were prepared and ready to ko Canelo and said many times he wouldnt see past round 6.

Was really surprised to hear the Mexicans booing canelo and you can tell it bothered him. they really went nuts when he said he won at least 7-8 rounds.

I find it funny that he criticized bot Floyd and lara for running in their fights. but tried to fight in that same style against GGG. When max asked about it he said he was "there all night to fight" and again got booed.

On aanother note I don't see canelo knocking out anyone at 160. Hes made his career off of beating smaller guys. similar to Oscar. The first time he fights a guy bigger than him with some legit power he does his best mayweather impression. I don't see him beating charlo or Jacobs but he can certainly out box the lemieuxs and rosados of the division
