Why would Cotto have any interest in this? I don't get why people keep talking about it as Cotto had plenty of opportunities to face Golovkin and showed zero interest.

Of course Golovkin fans want it. They finally had to come to terms with what everyone was saying about the guy. I just don't get why people think Cotto would actually take this fight. He's too small and I don't think his heart is that into it anymore.

It'd be safer to fight Kamegai 3 more times with one hand tied behind his back then take a last fight against Golovkin

It's a great fight for GGG and a terrible fight for Cotto who doesn't have a Canelo chin. Cotto would be quickly knocked out. Cotto was stopped by Pacquiao. Cotto would never fight GGG. When Cotto was middleweight champion GGG was his mandatory. He wouldn't fight him. Now that he is older and back at 154 he is not going to fight GGG, Canelo, Lemieux, Jacobs,or Jermall at 160. He might agree to fight the light punching Saunders at a catch weight of 155. Cotto wants his last fight to be a win. He won't be fighting a dangerous, hard punching middleweight at the full 160 pounds. Cotto never fought at 160 when he was the WBC middleweight champ and he sure won't fight at that weight now.

Cotto will probably take it. Golovkin would take it but not in December.

I don't know if Cotto would be crazy enough to take GGG for his final fight but it would likely be an relatively easy task for Golovkin. I don't want to see Cotto get destroyed. Miguel will probably find a safer option.

I doubt Canelo will rematch GGG in May. GGG was too strong for him in the eyes of most people who saw the fight. I think Oscar will want GGG to get at least a year older and has had the wear of a few more hard fights before he risks his top money maker against him again. If GGG has a chance to fight Saunders at any time he should take it and get that last belt. He has been chasing Saunders for years. If Saunders finally has his courage up for a fight with GGG then GGG should jump on it before he changes his mind.

Mad respect for Cotto if he decides to tango with GGG in December. He's probably still got plenty left in the tank. So why not go out with a big **** Vs a grim reaper before he hangs 'em up for good? It was beautiful when he proved his doubters wrong Vs. Martinez.
