What I'm saying is that- at the furthest stretch of my imagination- I could see someone thinking it was 6 rounds to 6. Like in my view that would be the furthest extent of being as Canelo-biased as you could be.

A 10-2 card to me is just proof that Oscar buys off judges. Bring me a tin foil hat if you want to, at this point I just can't find the lie in it.

Feel bad for both fighters. Again, they both turned in great performances. But this does hurt Canelo's rep. And if they don't make the rematch for another 2 years then I just don't even GAF.

    Oscar de la Arum.

you mean fan polls, where fans pick their favorite fighter?

30,000,000 ******s thought that Pacquiao beat Mayweather

there was nothing in that fight, it was very close

if fans score for the guy going forward they are dumb

I don't feel sorry for Team Golovkin at all after all that "nobody at 160 can last 12 with Golovkin" bullshht

FACT: they failed to deliver on their promises, whilst being continually punched in the face

a cold-blooded killer cannot cry if he leaves it in the judges hands

The NSAC overrides objections, eg when Top Rank objected to Byrd for Loma/Walters - Byrd still got appointed.

But in general, I think I get your point - shouldn't be too hard to get three judges they both agree on (which would be interesting - can't imagine anyone agreeing to Byrd in the future, which would effectively freeze her out. Job done)

oops - just reread, nice idea but no chance of happening. Solution needs to be far more radical, ditch the whole idea of 3 ringside judges for fights like this and use technology. More judges, faster score count, use boxing writers and pundits who remain accountable through their publications and reputations. Done.

Yet when it was all over it was the scorecards that were causing the fight to trend on social media, not the performances of the boxers. Two scorecards were plausible but one, belonging to Adalaide Byrd, was simply outrageous...

Shots did bounce off of Golovkin's gloves, but you can't ignore the amount of times that Alvarez snapped Golovkin's head back.
Do you know what i want?

I want 3G to not take a forward step in the rematch. I want it to be a snooze fest and be purely on the defensive, which he is capable of doing. An over calculated chess match.

All boxers should be on the defensive and this will be good for the sport as boxers will hardly get punched in the face.

You are never properly 'open' for taking shots (gaurding up) unless you are throwing your own shots and open opportunities for your opponent, therefore less punch output, tighter defense, more movement and less power shots or angle punches. They should only be doing straight punches as these are more defensively resposible.

The new age of boxing has arrived. This is going to be exciting!

I think it was a fair result

                  Golovkin was lucky

Canelo was competitive early but gassed quite quickly. He spent the rest of the bout fighting for ~30-45 seconds each round, usually early, and then trying to hide on the ropes as if he was in survival mode. Frankly, Danny Jacobs turned in a much more impressive performance against GGG than Canelo.

This was an easy fight to score. I don't see how any competent judge could give Canelo more than five rounds, and that's being generous by a round in my book. Frankly, Dave Moretti turned in the only scorecard that was credible.
Exactly. I had people at my house who don't even watch boxing who thought GGG won EASILY! 9 people all thought it was like 9-3, 8-4 for GGG. We actually thought that the 118-110 score was legit until they said Candelita and everyone at my house was screaming WTF at the TV. Not one single person thought this fight was even close.

I don't think that approach would work for Golovkin

plus, Canelo is really skilled..... sitting back brings more of his offence into play

Golovkin was probably correct keeping him off the front foot as much as possible

Golovkin needs to be triple-G, just better

                      rematch will be cool
