I don't think so. I think Canelo is lucky enough to have a fan base that will keep coming out. As long as he's in exciting fights they'll back him.

Even if he lost half his base he'd still be the most attractive PPV boxer right now.

The rematch needs to happen in May. Why draw it out and let it fizzle out and wait for Golovkin to only get older? That'll only bring more backlash to Canelo and Goldenboy. They need to strike while the iron is hot and have the rematch in May of next year.

If Canelo is better why didn't he make the adjustments in this fight? Why did he get outlanded just like Ward vs Kovalev? Why did he duck GGG until he was 35 and wait for his punches to turn to molasses, but STILL struggle to win rounds against the slowest champion left standing in all of boxing? What's hilarious is it took this long for all the **** you guys have been saying about GGG to finally come true with age, and yet even now, he's still undefeated, still champion, and Canelo struggled to win a clear round all fight.

Want to talk about deja vu? Of the clear rounds, GGG won 7-0 or 8-0, and yet just like Ward-Kovalev, every competitive round was given to the same guy, in this case Canelo, in that case Ward. Now there's your deja vu.

I reminded him that his reliable source thinks that Golovkin was coming off a loss heading into the Canelo fight

Why is any fan if boxing called a hater when they point out the reality if who Golovkin and where he stands in history versus the perception that fans of Golovkin have or want to have.

Perception: Golovkin is a killer and no one from 154-168 can go 12 with him. Everyone is avoiding him.

Reality: Golovkin while elite, is just a really good MW that has been matched well. He is a killer, just not a killer of A class fighters. It is more likely that not that those A class guys that called him out actually wanted to fight him and would have had K2 not been singularly focused on a big money fight versus Alvarez.

I think this is a little different. I could see GGG fighting Saunders before fighting Canelo again in May 2018. Might not want to wait that long. Low risk stay busy fight for solid UK money and it'll give him the final belt at middleweight.

But I do agree, Canelo will definitely not fight anybody else. Why risk it? He knows what he's getting now. I don't think the rematch ends with a TKO though. Probably a decision for Alvarez.

Im fine with both guys taking a tune up fight next. They both deserve it. These types of fights take their toll on fighters. We just got a fight we asked for, was better than advertised and fans are still complaining ... haha ... btw I Canelo barely got away with the win on this one based on more effective aggression, ring generalship, defense and clean punching. Sorry but that's what I like to see in a fight. It's ok to disagree. I'm not particularly fond of come forward and take punches style. Canelo neutralized GGG body game which says a lot and took away his hooks which are his bread and butter. That to me says a lot. Great Fight. No complaints.

We are complaining because it has not been settled and Canelo didnt win. GGG won that fight.
