I don't like this match up at all for Golovkin. At this current stage of their careers, Alvarez is a lot stronger and younger than GGG. Gennady appears to have lost a step and is on the decline at 160. He no longer has the same snap or pop on his punches or target the body as in times past; Which was a key weapon in his arsenal.
Gennady would turn 36 years old by the time of their rematch commences on the Cinco de Mayo weekend. That's approximately eight months from now and he is not getting any younger; Golovkin that is.
It's time for him to vacate those titles and move up to a 168 lbs and force Canelo to fight him there, where he will be more invigorated.
