  • of course he will fight again. He has fought GGG, Lara, Floyd, Cotto, etc. He doesn't duck. We know that

But don't let that get in the way!

Sort of like ward vs Kovalev. Of course Ward was fighting him again. It's just posture and negotiating.

And how the hell would anybody know if the fans want it? He doesn't want it clearly. He knows he can't beat GGG. He doesnt have the gas tank to do what he needs to do and even if he did he'll get caught in the middle of a combo and go to sleep.

      • Maybe Canelo wants to fight some other guys in the interim and let Golovkin get older. Oscar will use the same trick that he used before...We'll have to wait another year or two to see the rematch. That's fine. In the meantime Canelo can fight Jacobs. That would be an interesting fight.

          Correct.

Jermall Charlo is GGG's WBC mandatory
Sergey Deveryanchenko is the IBF mandatory (expect this to be ordered really soon)
Hassan N'Dam/R. Murata rematch winner will be WBA mandatory

          • He has to fight the perfect defensive fight to not get stopped and take lots of thudding punches that will shorten his career. He has to move non top for 12 rounds, and never take his foot off the gas, have no time to rest, and have this robot always in front of you absorbing any punches with no effect. It's a nightmare. Take the gift Draw and run. If Canelo fought Mexican style he would not have been able to take it. I give him credit for his survival approach and defence, but that's not winning.

Thanks for the info. That is a boatload of mandatories

              • Golovkin shouldn't fight him at all because he is aging, declining and past his prime at 160. While on the other hand, Canelo appears to have reached his peak at 160; Where he appears to be stronger and more energetic than in times past.

Personally, I believe that GGG has outgrown the division. It's now time for him to move up in weight just like Canelo did where he'll be stronger and have more timing, snap and pop on his power punches again.

And Golovkin is still with the belts

                  ....but he was 'exposed'

Canelo is the one who was exposed that night

                  • You know he's gotta talk to his promoter to see what his promoter wants to do. Too many fighters are a slave to their promoter these days. Canelo is just another one in that regard.

                    • Golovkin vs. Saunders in December to unify division and have the Canelo rematch in May. Let's do it!
