Not really, he was missing and getting frusterated, GGG had a far better defence than he thought and wasnt falling for his traps.Watch the fight again, see how many times Canelo tried to throw a flurry that were missed and countered by GGG's jab

Canelo landed a lot of clean shots. Up and downstairs. Whether he threw enough of them is another matter altogether.

Why couldn't Canelo land clean enough and effective enough to ACTUALLY EFFECT Golovkin? As in, discourage him, stun him, hurt him or at the very least, force him backwards more often? How an Earth is Canelo's punches more worthy or more valuable when his supposed best 'clean' punches were having less effect on Golovkin than vice versa.

The last time I checked, Golovkin was the one who forced Canelo Alvarez to fight uncharacteristically on the back foot like never before. That is 'EFFECTIVENESS'. On the other hand, Canelo's tippy tappy punches were just that, which were ineffective punches and less valuable / worthy punches.

No wonder you've got a wonky scorecard. You need to rewatch it.

Exactly! Canelo was made to look like an amateur with his overrated counter punching style which really looked like a poor man's imitation of Floyd Mayweather. When his counter punches didn't work, he was for the most part, limited to throwing single punches once or twice every minute that looked better than they actually were because for one, they were flashier and more flamboyant and two, because they were random. However, Golovkin's punches were more consistent.

Golovkin's range control and jab almost totally shut down Canelo's counter punching strategy.

He threw plenty, he landed no where near enough. As I said plenty of shots were being blocked and evaded by GGG.

My argument wasn't about whether it was enough. Glad we agree he landed plenty.
