Every Major Media Outlet had GGG Winning the Fight

Every serious news media analyst had GGG winning this fight. I know we have a lot of fanboys on this site, but I'd like that to sink in for a second. Virtually no one serious in boxing world thought Canelo won. That is unless you're a Boxingscene member who enjoys stuffing Canelos balls in his mouth.

    Edit.

Also vast majority of HOFs and champions had it clear for GGG.

I feel sorry for Canelo. It feels a bit like Bradley Manny 1. 118-110 ruined all IMO.

I think most people who had it beyond 7-5 either way might over value non-effective aggression or defense too much. And anyone who had it 7-5 either way should realize there were enough close rounds that the result was within the reasonable margin of error & 7-5 either way or a draw made sense for this fight of which 2 of the 3 cards had it & how most of the reasonable "media" people + pundits had it.

Byrd made this fight look a lil bit like a joke there is no denying that doe. I think thats probably the one thing everyone can agree with whoever you thought won.

I think that stat is being under discussed. As a bit of a punch stat dork one thing I've noticed for over a decade+ at this point is power punches>overall punches more often than not. Jabs aren't having the same effect on people viewing the fight as power punches that often look & are stronger + tend to kick back heads & make sweat fly wildly. That has impact with judges rightly or wrongly.

                Nice. Thanks.

A lot of close cards there but yeah clearly the vast majority had GGG winning.

I think obviously GGG has a strong case for winning but I dunno personally I thought Canelo nicked it
