Yeah...it's the BoxingScene image. It enlarges when I click on it. IDK but if Canelo only connected 4 more power shots total then he couldn't have landed more in 7 of those rounds...right? It just does not add up.

**EDIT** Nevermind...it adds up. It's just that when you look at the totals it does not really seem that impressive.

Personally...watching the fight...I couldn't really score most of the rounds where Canelo threw a few more powershots as his just based on that...but if you dissect the fight based on the punch stats you could argue that it was closer if you're scoring the rounds only on powershots but there was much more to the fight than that. I think it was 8-4 based on what I saw in the absence of the punch stat figures for GGG.

If you wanna talk about fixing scoring I could speak on that all day. 10-8 for clear rounds, 10-9 for close rounds would help cuz all rounds won aren't created equal. Write in the rulebook for judges exactly what wins a round as specific as possible. Suspend & re-train judges after bad decisions based upon those changes I mentioned. Even adding a couple more judges & getting rid of any outliers + going with the majority would be good to.

As boxing is scored currently doe this was a close fight & as such it could go either way. Thats one of the flaws with this scoring system that has obviously problems with it that people ignore while b^tching every other month about robberies when there aren't rules strong enough to ever make a subjectively judged fight a robbery in any real way.
None of that will make a difference when you have judges like Adelaide bird, , what difference will it make if she gives canelo 10 rounds at 10-8, no difference what so ever, you need to make judges accountable, do you think casinos put pressure on local government, how much money would have been thrown on the tables during floyd v Connor, do you think there isn't kickbacks, it's out of control, Nevada always have basically the same officials, most seem to favour 1 fighter over the other, imagine if the NFL was run as bad as what boxing is with one controversial decision after another, imagine officials favouring 1 team so much that they couldn't lose, yet that's what we have in boxing

      • I was scoring the fight in our fantasy league and had Canelo up 115-113 at the end. If you had GGG 115-113 I had no issue with that. Obviously the Byrd card is the issue.

Boxingscene round by round live also had it a draw.
Chavez Sr and Erik Morales had Canelo
          Chavez Jr. had Golovkin
Joe Cortez and Kenny Porter also had it a draw.
          Danny Jacobs had Golovkin

          • For me it was close enough to be 7-5 either way, but my general sense was that if the fight had a winner it was Golovkin.

I think a rematch would have been justified regardless of the decision. Both men deserved another day.

MMA and Wrasslin? Really? They're major boxing observers now? SI doesn't cover boxing so they don't count either. Casuals and MMA fans that were influenced by the Lederman score card had GGG winning.

                • I find the Fightscore app to be a much better guide than the media or forum polls, or even the judges.

From 1453 cards they have it 115-114 Golovkin.

                  Clear rounds for Canelo: 1, 2, 3, 11, 12

                  Clear rounds for GGG: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

Rd 10 they have even (45% each way and 10% scored it even)

Looking at the margins, Golovkin has six rounds where 75% of fans saw him winning. Canelo has just one, round 2.

That kind of sums it up for me. Golovkin won his rounds bigger, so if anyone deserved the nod it was him. A draw is a fair outcome. And Adalaide Byrd is a crook.
