Keyword; was. You know at one point Jacobs was someone that could get KO'd in the 5th round. Just like Canelo was someone who got shook up by Cotto's little brother at 147. GGG was a killer if he clearly had the reputation, and who knows when and why it might not be the case anymore? Maybe he got old, maybe his competition is really that much better, maybe being in the mountains has made his reflexes become shot over time?

    Canelo was the skilled boxer/puncher
Yes, a skilled boxer puncher who was known for KOing his recent opponents either with one shot or really fast.

what happened in the fight, did it play out for GGG or for Canelo?
It played out back and forth, but it played for one guy more of the time of the fight.

I did not see Golovkin destroying his opponent..... but I did see Canelo outboxing Golovkin, throwing him off his game, and landing the better/cleaner punches
Destroying is such an easy word to throw out there. Let's be real with ourselves; when Mayweather schooled Canelo, where was the impact on Canelo's face, and how often was Canelo backing up into the ropes? People say GGG was not able to accomplish anything, but he made Canelo look bad in front of a lot of his crowd. Why did the Canelo fans boo him throughout the fight and postfight if GGG didn't throw him off his game? Canelo did land more cleaner punches, but GGG landed punches that visibly discouraged Canelo moreso than vice-versa, so how do you score that?

I don't think that Golovkin fans should be crying about a draw
Had it been a 114-114, 114-114, and 115-113 GGG or even 115-113 a piece there would slightly less people angry.

he is lucky he kept his titles, we all saw that happen to Kovalev
He is lucky. I knew that GGG's worst bet was a decision, but at least he gets to walk away knowing not to fight in Vegas again.

Canelo backs up against much smaller fighters of course he respected GGG power, but we saw him take some good shot from GGG and didn't seem to effect him much

no matter which way you paint it..... MYTH BUSTED !!

but I respect you for not playing the " he got old " song....

the reason why he went life and death with Jacobs is, style/level

the reason why he went life and death with Canelo is, style/level/skills

and a TON of knowledgeable posters said that would happen when Golovkin finally started fighting elite competition..... they did not wait until it happened, like the "he suddenly got old" krewe

I think he said no pega but I will have to rewatch it and listen carefully

Great, they would all be good fights.

GGG should start faster next time and don't make the mistake of spotting Canelo the first three rounds, which may have cost him the victory the first time and then he should be just fine.
