Over the years, I have agreed with much of Teddy Atlas' observations. I think he is a bit overly dramatic on this one. A good case can be made for either fighter winning the fight and the better case can be made for a draw, but "robbery" is too much an exaggeration. Lately, Teddy has become something of a drama queen. That is unfair to the boxers, fans and the sport.

You are writing this just to generate controversy. If you REALLY think Canelo won the first 8 rounds then you Just think you know how to score a fight. You don't and the vast majority of fans and most experts saw a easilly scored victory for GGG. Surviving a round doesn't win it for you. If you score the rounds objectively the best Canelo did was to win 4 rounds. Bet you thought McGrgregor beat Mayweather too but the ref stopped it early to save Mayweather. Lol. Your clouded judgement is what I call nut hugger syndrome

The damage was dealt by Canelo.
Swing and a miss repeatedly from GGG. With pitter patter jabs landing on the gloves and shoulders.
GGG comes forward, gets blasted and backs up for a bit, but thinks quickly enough to put up his hands as if he's begging for more so as to give the impression that he's not getting his ass kicked.
Totally hilarious.
Alvarez was robbed. 10 - 2.

GGG landed only jabs, maybe 2 solid shots upstairs and Canelo took it well. Canelo didn't have the power to put GGG to sleep but he was countering him all night and hitting him hard to the body and head. Punch stats don't lie. GGG was the aggressor, but was ineffective with hard shots, while Canelo was landing clean and even stopping him GGG dead in his tracks. I thought Canelo won, but it doesn't matter. Love how everyone becomes a boxing judge posting their score cards. Put that away. Score cards that matter had it a draw. While no one wants a draw, we really didn't see either man take control over the other. Like I said, GGG came forward, but Canelo countered him effectively. just didn't have KO power.
Draw is definitely acceptable.

Just look at the post-fight press conference, DLH, Loeffler etc just wanted to celebrate a great fight so they could get to start doing it again, but 75% of the press conference was about Byrd's card - they even had to mention MSG as a potential venue to try answer the 'what you going to do about it?' question and I'm not sure if the chubby one was the Vegas guy, but it sounded like he was saying 'please don't blame us for Byrd - we're the promoters not the NSAC' - basically Vegas is going to have an issue with the commission if they lose the rematch.
All of DLH, Loeffler, the Vegas promotion outfit, the commission, are taking repeated hits because of Byrd. I bet ya Vegas will put the commission under pressure to get her to retire - they want the rematch, if she gets to carry on doing her job Vegas can't pitch that they've done anything about the previous screw-up.

Doesn't really matter whether one believes there was corruption or not, there are too many accusations being made for Vegas to ignore it. At first I was incensed enough about it to make sure I joined the chorus of disapproval (for what its worth), but what has hit home over the last couple of hours is just how much doo-dah she's in !
The post-fight press conference did it for me - never seen one like it. Even the CJ Ross Mayweather card didn't get this much flak - it got some pretty harsh and direct criticism (deservedly), but it didn't dominate the press conference like this one did.
Its pretty clear she has no friends right now, everyone's taking hits because of her. DLH/Loeffler couldn't talk about how great a fight it was because all the attention was on her card, Vegas promotion outfit already apologising that it wasn't their fault on hearing Loeffler saying MSG might be a consideration, the commission taking direct heat at the podium that they didn't like at all......all because of one lil' 'ol lady - Adalaide Byrd.
She's toast.
