Yup it actually hurts Canelo, not Golovkin. If she scored 114-114, its still a draw, so same impact on Golovkin as a 118-110 card.
But 118-110 set off fire alarms, and I don't think it will be as bad as the Bradley fallout, but Bradley took a lot of undeserved heat because the judges failed in that one, even though it was none of his fault. If Byrd had a closer scorecard it would have blown over fairly quickly, but Byrd put paid to that.
A primarily Mexican crowd cheering Golovkin and booing Canelo at the end had to be a kick to his heart too.
