All I could see Canelo winning is 2,3 and 12. The rest between all that was GGG getting the best of every round. Canelo had some moments, but GGG walked right through his best punches whereas Canelo was hurt quite a few times. GGG was cautious of Canelos power though and kept calm and patient to limit brawling and getting caught by Canelos quicker hands. As usual Canelo gassed, especially after the third round. I was impressed with Canelos power, as it is really what kept him from getting stomped out. Both guys, world class chins.Comment

The main criteria for judging any boxing bout over anything else is effective punches landed in total. How do we determine effective punches. By the punch which effects the opponent. So any punch that knocks an opponent out, down, stuns an opponent, causes visible damage or snaps / forces their head / body back are all effective punches. For the most part, GGG did better in this department than Canelo Alvarez. For the most part, GGG's punches were forcing Canelo Alvarez's head / body back more frequently than vice versa. Thus, GGG landed not only more punches in total, but also more effective punches.
Canelo Alvarez's short moments of a few clean punches doesn't change the fact that GGG landed more frequently, despite Canelo Alvarez's landed punches looking flashier (but not more effective).
So as long as that main criteria (who landed the more effective punches) is fulfilled, those other factors such as who made who miss more, who got more tired, or who countered more and etc. all become irrelevant.
So barring those irrelevant factors, GGG was the one who won the fight without a doubt.Comment

It's also ridiculous to discover that the standards applied to two boxers are different. As if one boxer has to KO the other otherwise he doesn't deserve the win or isn't impressive. Whereas if the other boxer himself also doesn't get the knockout then somehow it is enough to warrant a win and is considered impressive, only because he himself didn't get knocked out.
GGG doesn't have to KO Canelo Alvarez, anymore than Canelo Alvarez has to KO GGG to win. Both are following the same rules. One doesn't have an extra rule that he has to follow (such as one has to get the KO to win whilst the other has the luxury of being warranted the win by decision). So why should it matter that GGG failed to KO Canelo when Canelo also couldn't KO Golovkin? Why should it be more impressive that Canelo survived and didn't get knocked out by GGG, when GGG himself also survived and didn't get knocked out by Canelo either?Comment

Haha... here explained to you as well, idiot. The majority of people using that app had GGG winning.
No it's not impossible. I will teach you.
Example: we have 5 people voting. We have fighter A, and fighter B. A fight of 6 rounds.
Voter 1:
Round 1: Fighter A.
Round 2: Fighter A.
Round 3: Fighter A.
Round 4: Fighter A.
Round 5: Fighter A.
Round 6: Fighter B.
Winner according to Voter 1: Fighter A.
Voter 2:
Round 1: Fighter A.
Round 2: Fighter A.
Round 3: Fighter A.
Round 4: Fighter A.
Round 5: Fighter B.
Round 6: Fighter B.
Winner according to Voter 2: Fighter A.
Voter 3:
Round 1: Fighter A.
Round 2: Fighter A.
Round 3: Fighter A.
Round 4: Fighter B.
Round 5: Fighter B.
Round 6: Fighter A.
Winner according to Voter 3: Fighter A.
Voter 4:
Round 1: Fighter A.
Round 2: Fighter B.
Round 3: Fighter A.
Round 4: Fighter B.
Round 5: Fighter A.
Round 6: Fighter A.
Winner according to Voter 4: Fighter A.
Voter 5:
Round 1: Fighter B.
Round 2: Fighter B.
Round 3: Fighter B.
Round 4: Fighter B.
Round 5: Fighter B.
Round 6: Fighter B.
Winner according to Voter 5: Fighter B.
According to this app, the "average" score would be:
Round 1: Fighter A
Round 2: Fighter A
Round 3: Fighter A
Round 4: Fighter B
Round 5: Fighter B
Round 6: Fighter B
"Average result" to the app is a 3-3 draw, but in fact 4 of 5 voters had Fighter A winning.
This is exactly what happened. Most people scoring the fight had GGG winning, thanks for the graph confirming it again.
Did you go to college? Basic lessons.Think about it, man. I can write down an example for you to show you how it works if you like. It's entirely possible to have a wide majority of people score the fight for one fighter on their individual total scores whilst still giving averaged out round by round scores which appear to show a draw.
In fact it's entirely possible to do the same thing with just the normal 3 judges. Envisage the following 6 round scorecard.
Judge #
1 2 3
c c g
c g c
g c c
g g g
g g g
g g g
G wins on every scorecard whereas the round average appears to show a draw. The larger the number of scorers, the more ways there is of doing it.Comment

7-5 for Golovkin. Close but clear. I could see it 8-4 for Golovkin as well.
Pretty much everyone, other than Adelaide Byrd, had either Golovkin winning or they scored it a draw. If someone scored it a draw, I don't think that's totally egregious. But It's almost impossible to find 7 rounds to give to Canelo.
10-2 for Canelo is an atrociously bad scorecard. Worst of the year. That needs to be investigated.Comment
