rooting for GGG but if Canelo beats him I won't be mad. Canelo has proven he will take the tough fights so he'd deserve it. Just no fkery with the scorecards and I'm happy either way

I think Canelo's timing and vision have improved a lot. He's also in his prime, bigger than ever, and GGG got older and is on the decline.

IMO he would have been better off fighting a Lemieux or Saunders at 160 rAther than any of those guys to acclimate him to the weight class and fight a solid MW. Instead he chose the biggest stiff for the most money he could find.
OMG, Canelo is going to beat the breaks off of Golovkon's slow a$$. If Canelo can hang with movers like Lara then stationary GGG will be nothing to get at and Canelo is also faster, better counters ,and better combos. GGG with his 1 punch at a time is going to get dealt with.

            Nobody's really answered the OP.

I notice a lot of people got off on Canelo's pull counter against Cotto. They started saying he was getting "slicker." He has skills that pay the bills.

But I'm with the OP. The competition the past 2 years would make anyone look good.

Still, Canelo is a popular guy, THE popular guy. Mayweather always liked Canelo. Many other boxers and their fans followed suit. Mayweather likes good looking young guys. I'm not judging, just saying what's real. And he smoked Canelo in the ring. He can talk him up. It makes him feel bigger and bigger. Canelo has an important role in Mayweather's ego feedbag.

lol at the idea that canelo is the more skilled of the two, seriously when did GGG go down to provodnikov's level?? the guy has like 300 amateur fights, a silver olympic medalist and an amateur world champion, unbeaten as a pro, undisputed midleweight champion. canelo was hitting the ropes more then he was hitting lara and people brag about that victory??? seriously??? look i was glad he got the nod since lara is insufferable, anoying as **** but come on, it was an awful performance from both.

Monroe and Lemieux, exactly the same. Geale and Murray, exactly the same.

Canelo is a highly skilled fighter with a great boxing IQ. I just think that GGG's pressure and power would be the difference maker.

Since 5-9-15 he's fought Kirkland, Cotto, Khan,Smith,Chavez Jr.

2 of those are glass jaw guys. 1 is a nobody.. 1 is a fat slob who stinks and 1 is a faded good fighter who spent the best years of his career at 140-147.

We talk about GGG not having that big name on his record or not being ready for what Canelo brings but what has Canelo done since the Lara fight that makes anyone think he's ready for what GGG brings based on fighting this bunch of guys the last 2 years? Before he got his face smashed in by GGG I'd pick Brook over Kirkland,Khan,Cotto, and Smith at 154.

People keep saying Canelo has gotten better, that he's learned since the Mayweather fight yet all I see is him in mismatches that make him look good. Little azz Cotto hit him all night long but couldn't hurt him because the dude was huge compared to him. Liam fking smith was putting that work on the guy in the corners but again had no power to hurt Canelo.

This dudes power is overrated, he has NEVER put out a good fighter.. NEVER... He will not KO GGG, i don't think he can even hurt him. If GGG starts landing that jab early this will be an easy fight for GGG...
I'll give it a shot. IMO he has seemed more patient, less willing to trade. His timing has improved greatly and sets traps appropriately. Khan is a good example. For example speed kills in boxing. Khan was incredibly fast but Canelo found ways to neutralize that speed. Kirkland was a filler. Cotto is a good boxer. Plain and simple. he moves well has good / balance offense v defense.

If I were going to say its one single attribute, its patience and maturity. taking his time, letting the fight come to him.

Lets talk GGG. what has he done that is so great. Knocked everyone out that he should have. These guys are bums that he has fought. not a single HOF'er or recognize name on his resume. The first was Jacobs and he loss IMO.

GGG only has one way to win this fight by KO. And he can. He totally can. We will have to wait and see.
