Rumor: GGG has been dropped before in sparring.

I was watching this podcast and they were talking about the Canelo vs GGG fight and one of the guys brought up something interesting saying that someone he knew who sparred almost everyone actually dropped GGG in sparring. He also said he complimented GGG's power. What do you guys make of this?

They're pro boxers with thousands of rounds of sparing under their belts. Spoiler alert; they've all been dropped at some point.

Tyrell Hendrix dropped him to the body. Idk what it is but supposedly a lot of Eastern European fighters can't take it to the body maybe it's the style that they fight

            This.

Idk why people love to make such a big deal about old sparring sh^t or sparring in general. People like to make out athletes & undefeated boxers specifically as more mythical than real men sometimes & the legend of perfection in sparring is a part of that I think.

Although I will say recent sparring is much more relevant although that doesn't have to involve being knocked down or anything so dramatic. If a guy isn't having a good camp or is getting beat up in sparring or just not having as good of sparring vs normal sparring partners that is relevant. Thing is with that its usually rumor or bs then news we can find out is legit before a fight. I mean there has been rumors of Zab dropping Floyd in sparring before Floyd's last 2 or 3 fights now I think lol.

No one is immune to body shots. A liver shot drops any man.

I have to disagree you drop voluntarily from the pain. It's not like being knocked out where anyone can get knocked out to the head.

No one is immune to getting dropped in sparring. Some of the greatest fighters in history have been dropped in sparring. I'm sure there are some who may never have been dropped in sparring yet lost fights in their career. Sparring doesn't tell the whole story, the fight needs to be fought. Best versus the best, the way it should be.
