I kid you not, someone actually said GGG had never been chin checked, besides Curtis Stevens who never connected well on him.

Another said Alvarez is the hardest puncher Golovkin will have faced to date and should knock him out.

I think even the anti-white/European crowd here on NSB will at least be willing to admit GGG has a iron chin and has been checked several times

several times by who? Jacobs, stevens, lemieux are the only 3 punchers he has faced and none of them hit him flush.

    geale,monroe,brook don't count. they can't punch

Fair enough, opinions are to be respected for what they are. Some will be wrong and some will be right but we'll have an answer in a handful of days.

people can pick whoever they want but to me it just appears they have short memories. trout outlanded canelo, lara won on many scorecards, mayweather put on a schooling, khan was outboxing him (i wouldnt mention that but apparantly brook exposed GGG by winnin a couple of round), but canelos now the one with all the skill and ggg is a crude face first puncher cause jacobs gave him some problems . People are more impressed with someone beating a weight drained zombie (chavez) than a competitive win against a world champion (jacobs) who i doubt canelo would have beat. Predictions seem to have changed based purely on there last fights. People are going to get a big shock come saturday night and the bull**** they are going to come out with afterwards in order to save face will be amusing.

A good read, but not sure I agree with a common assumption that Canelo has a better boxing brain than Golovkin, or that Golovkin is a pure puncher (as Delboy said).

Golovkin has been inconsistent, just because he could afford to be. When he brought his A game against Lemoo there were no inconsistencies, and safe assumption is he will bring his A game v Canelo too.

Golovkin also brought his A game v Jacobs (whatever anyone says, I don't believe for a second he throttled back to get the Canelo fight), and met a style he couldn't dominate, just like Canelo couldn't dominate Lara. Lara and Jacobs have some similarities in their stick-and-move skills, and could even view Jacobs as a super-sized Lara (I think Jacobs beats Canelo for that reason). Styles make fights - Jacobs is awkward for both Golovkin and Canelo.

I think Golovkin's plan for this fight is fairly predictable, and Canelo wins if any of:

          (1) he can force Golovkin off his game plan
          (2) Golovkin departs from his game plan for any other reason
          (3) he can get past the jab consistently enough to close the distance to where he has the advantage

Canelo has shown weakness at getting past jabs before, but the version of Canelo that shows up Saturday will be better than any other version we have seen before, can he do it ? We find out soon.

The other uncertainty is how Canelo adapts to the added weight. Will it slow him down late fight ? Will he gas more than he has done in the past ? JCC let him have rest breaks as he wasn't throwing, Golovkin WILL be throwing during any rest breaks, and has a variety of punch selection, power and accuracy that JCC could only ever dream about.

But on the flipside - did Golovkin punch himself out in the second round of Monroe ? He started out on his A game, then stopped moving his feet completely. Could Canelo play possum a bit and get Golovkin to shoot his load early, relying on his defence on the ropes not to get hurt ? If Golovkin has a brain, he'll expect that and be far more selective when Canelo falls back to the ropes (which he will), if not, Canelo outplays him.

If Sanchez if half as good as he thinks he is, Golovkin should have been thoroughly drilled on how to handle Canelo on the ropes, as Canelo fights off the ropes as well as anyone else out there, and its when the distance between them will have closed to where Canelo wants Golovkin to be (his uppercut pocket).

I am getting tired of your commie posts.
Your induced ****** thoughts are grotesque. Go read a book, or have someone read you a book.

Just goes to show that yeah all the casuals are going with Golovkin because they want him to win and he seems more impressive due to having easier fights. However the people that really understand & know boxing are picking Canelo.

That was Brooks trainer. He probably studied Golovkin more than all his ******ed fans on this forum.

All those fighters had speed, Golovkin doesn't. All those fighters moved, Golovkin doesn't. Golovkin is going to get lit up like a pinball machine. Going to be great.
