Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz Cancelled Before Becoming Official!

Many are reporting that this fight is official however according to reports Wilder's team aren't happy with the date Nov 4th. Team Ortiz have spoke out on IG saying they are still waiting for Wilder to sign the contract.

Report: Wilder vs. Ortiz on Nov. 4 in question; spring of 2018 a possibility

Deontay Wilder will reportedly return to the ring to defend his WBC heavyweight title against Luis Ortiz on Nov. 4 at the Barclays Center in New York, but that is now in question, sources tell FightNights.com.

Although Wilder promoter Lou DiBella, of DiBella Entertainment, has Nov. 4 booked at the Barclays Center, the fight is still not official.

Wilder’s team is reportedly unsatisfied with the date because that is the same day Alabama plays LSU in college football. They fear that more people would rather tune into the football game than boxing. Additionally, the bout would be battling for viewers with UFC 217 taking place right down the street at Madison Square Garden.

Our sources say both sides are still talking, but it appears the bout will take place in the spring of 2018 at the earliest.

If we see this in spring next year I wouldn't mind seeing them face a tune up. (Inb4 wilders whole career was a tune up)

Told ya'll Wilder would duck him. I used to support the guy but I started to see the fake seeping out a couple years ago. It's mostly his team trying to protect their investment but still...it's not good for the sport.

Hahahahahaha! This is being done so that he then has to defend against his mandatory first, Bermane Stiverne. By that time Anthony Joshua will have to face his next mandatory, Luis Ortiz. These bums aren't fooling anyone. By the time Wilder faces Stiverne, AJ will already be the RING magazine champion anyway, and Hughie Fury may be the WBO champion. Wilder is a laughing stock.

What Wilder said shouldn't be ignored. That has potential to be a National Title preview kind of game
