How come canelo is seen to have the 'skill' advantage?

Golovkin has looked pretty ragged at times in his last few fights. Whether he has less skill or not, Canelo has looked slicker and more controlled over the last two years. He has looked more varied as well.
If Golovkin proves to have the better jab that might all count for nothing though.Comment

I don't think anyone is saying GGG doesn't have boxing skills, they just see Canelo as having more things in his toolbox that could make this a challenge for GGG then they see in GGG's toolbox that could make this a challenge for Canelo. Namely its power on GGG's side as he often seems to be uncomplicated in his approach & seems to even proudly claim to dumb down his game to fight in a more fun way for fans much like Manny often claimed to do.Comment

You call him G-love spot and think Canelo is a reincarnated Greek warrior. You have a big hate for GGG and a love affair going with Canelo. You aren't capable of a fair intelligent analysis of this fight and the two boxers.First of all Amateur accomplishment do not mean **** as we saw with Frankie Gavin, Queen Khan, and countless others.
Second Canelo has fought world class opposition in the Pros again and again, he outboxed Miguel Cotto and fought Mayweather at just 23 years old and Mosley at 21. His skills are proven at the world stage.
G-love spot on the other hand has been feasting on absolute trash cans like Geale, Macklin, Lemieux, Rubio, etc. sure he knocked them out, but will his skills translate to the elite world stage in the pros?
Finally, Canelo has way better defense/upper body slickness. Those who know boxing know that Defence is THE most important thing a fighter could have.
G-love spot gets hit clean in fights and makes mistakes. He has no slickness to his game. He fights like an awkward robot.
Canelo is going to school G-spot.Comment

According to the punch stats GGG lands more jabs per round than any other boxer. The jab is usually considered the most important punch in the arsenal of a skilled boxer. GGG and Canelo are both skilled boxers and big punchers. GGG is obviously the harder puncher. Canelo has a loss, a draw and a split decision on his record. GGG has no losses or split decisions, only KOs wins and UDs wins. I don't see anybody Canelo has defeated who GGG wouldn't beat faster and easier. Canelo might have a hard time beating Lemieux and Jacobs. It's a close fight but I think GGG will win it with his jab, more power, and more punches thrown and landed on average in past fights.Comment

Canelo has faster hands, better head movement, and better defense. GGG has a better jab, better footwork, and slightly more power.
I see GGG as slightly more skilled with Canelo having the physical tools advantage.
What is so intriguing about this fight is that you have a more proven commodity in Canelo fighting a KO artist who in less proven, but frankly looks better to the eye. Canelo has been in with much better competition, but most of that competition was at lower weights too.Comment
