If he fights again.. Gonzalez vs Nietes at 115 would make sense. Nietes would move up for this fight I think.

        He walks around at 130.

When I was a kid at 130lbs, there's no way I could make 112. People think that being perfect for a weight class has to be looking like a skeleton and then rehydrating 12-15lbs on fight night.

The guys who were really in the weight they belonged are the guys who rehydrate 2-3lbs on fight night. Yeah that means that not many boxers fight in the weight they belong in.

Roman Gonzalez being "too small" for 115, while walking around at 130lbs, really means that fighters his own size are too much for him and that if he can not feast on smaller opponents he will not be great. That's the interpretation I read.
Exactly! He can beat opponents smaller than him, but can't compete with the cats his own size. An argument can be made that Chocolatito lost to Estrada, Cuadras and Sor Rungvisai (twice).

Did everybody think choco is going to breeze thru a guy with 44 wins and 40 kos? I smelled upset since the 1st fight.

Happens to every fighter eventually. Well, except Floyd.

Hang up the gloves, Choco. Don't be like Manny, getting bullied by school teachers in a foreign county. Save what's left of your legacy. If you come back you'll just be scared of getting knocked out all the time.

If he's thinking about it he's clearly not as motivated as he was in the past. He could still beat guys but if motivation's not there i'd retire and do other stuff.

Too 'small' for 115, can't make 112 at this point. Just retire.
He isn't too 'small' for 115, more so that his power hasn't carried up to this weight. Mini Margarito walks through his schit like it's nothing.

And judging by how he fought SSR the second time, he just look done all together. I don't think the weight was the main reason for that ass whipping/KO. Just took an L from a fresher guy who had his number.

                Exactly

This guy only vs midgets and old men like Sosa and Viloria looked great but with guys of his own size struggled so bad.

Never unified a division and never had a great win being clearly superior

The claims he can't make 112 are pure bullshh..he just doesn't have his heart in the sport anymore and that's fine but all these excuses are just bullshh. Look at his stomach at the weigh in this dude could make 112 pretty easily with a nutritionist in his staff. Best thing he can do is walk away if he's already talking retiring.
