Because I felt that Cuadras-RG was a certified draw, or it could've gone either way.
I think he himself knew after the Cuadras fight he was declining, which is why he didnt want an immediate rematch. He took this Thai guy on thinking it would set him up nicely as an HBO main event and HBO would now pay handsomely for him to rematch Estrada. It backfired the first fight, and now with this KO loss, it blew up in his face.

    • Devastating KO left him out cold on his Back WOW! No surprise, Roman did not look good in that first fight but instead of admitting that excuses was made and people screamed Robbery for him so Sor Rungvisai left no doubt this time

Especially since they are fighting for "short" money (I assume Inoue made some money from Japan TV rights):
"Here are the purses for the all-junior bantamweight tripleheader on Saturday night (HBO, 10:15 ET) from the StubHub Center in Carson, California, according to the California State Athletic Commission: Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez $600,000, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai $170,000, Naoya Inoue $182,500, Antonio Nieves $35,000, Carlos Cuadras $62,500, Juan Francisco Estrada $65,000."

Umm I disagree. Not better than what Crawford has done.

He was more deserving that Rigo.

Inoue's shots got real special power but we haven't seen him take alot either. Rungvisai's got power in both hands, I wish he had more speed, but he's picking the right shots to throw at the right time right now so its working for him for so far. I've never heard of him before the first fight, and I thought he lost that first one lol but he's pretty tough. I would love to see him fight Inoue win, lose or draw. Or maybe Estrada first.
Rungvisai has heavy hands and he was punching thru not at chocolate.....it was a beautiful dismantling of chocolate

He wasn't the current King of the P4P thought he was #4 going into tonight

                  • Great night of boxing, gutted for my boy 'Chocolatito' Rungvisai did that! he came in with supreme confidence he knew Roman would of give him plenty of opportunity and he timed that shot perfectly.

What a KO -- maybe its KO of the year considering the caliber of Gonzalez. After this kind of defeat I don't want to see Gonzalez fight ever again, not that he cant have success vs. other good champions but when your style is coming forward and you are getting hit with devastating shots like that its too dangerous to keep going.

I hope its the end. I admit I'm upset but not so much for the defeat tonight but more over the judges that failed to make the right call in the last fight, and a bit anger for Gonzalez for really bringing this on himself not giving Cuadras the rematch, all that lead to this, Karma is a b*tch and he paid.

                    • Sor Rungvisai looked like a monster, power, rugged and aggressive. He had supreme confidence going in and Chocalatito looked mentally defeated when he got in the ring. I don't normally agree with Lederman but we both had the thai fighter dominating prior to the knockout. The conclusion seemed foregone. I'd like to see Sor Rungvisai fight Estrada next. Maybe toss Monster in with Cuadras.
