Well supposedly Benavidez gots 2 mandatory's in a row so if Gavril gets the right next fight he should easily get himself back in the line, but I really didn't think it was THAT close. It wasn't uncompetitive or anything + I thought there were some closer rounds that likely lead to wide scores on all the cards despite the split decision, but I think Gavril will need to earn a rematch & just not expect one based on the good performance he put on while clearly losing, in my eyes, the first fight.

Good fight, very close. Gavil made the mistake of standing in front of David too many times. Im OK with the decision but it could have gone the other way and it wouldn't have shocked me.

8-4 sounds right. Every round was competitive and I was really happy with that fight. Benevidez is still my favorite guy at 168 because of his style but i honestly think he has a ways to go. Proud of him though. That was a hell of an accomplishment at 20 years old even if it was a vacant title.
