It was a close fight, but Gavril lost. Well done to Gavril, who did way better than I expected. I thought Gavril was going to get knocked out early. Rematch would be good.

Did you guys even score the fight?

I had it 6rds each and that was giving Benavidez all the early rds but with the KD, Gavril would have won 114-113 on my scorecard.

            Think my Scorecard was Benavidez winning 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 11 and Gavril winning 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12(KD)

            114-113 Gavril

Gavril really took over the second half of the fight and his punches were more accurate especially the Body Punching. Benavidez had some good moments in the rds I gave to Gavril but not enough to win him the rds. Gavril was simply the more active fighter and fought the full 3 minutes of every rd.

... Ronnie is "my boy" (he's from Romania)...

... but David Benavidez won the fight with at least 8-4...

Just watched the fight, very disappointed in my boy benevidez. I expected a highlight reel KO. instead he left it way too close and got knocked down?

maybe he didnt take this romanian bum seriously? I dont expect him to come out with a AJ type physique but he looked soft af and looked like he barely even trained? looked like he gassed out after 5 rounds.
porky medina would of stopped gavril inside 8 rounds imo.
I guess the hype on him has to die down a bit now, but hes still very young and got alot more time to learn his craft

Well supposedly Benavidez gots 2 mandatory's in a row so if Gavril gets the right next fight he should easily get himself back in the line, but I really didn't think it was THAT close. It wasn't uncompetitive or anything + I thought there were some closer rounds that likely lead to wide scores on all the cards despite the split decision, but I think Gavril will need to earn a rematch & just not expect one based on the good performance he put on while clearly losing, in my eyes, the first fight.

                    Good fight.

But Benavidez won it rather comfortably.

Look forward to see Benavidez progress the kid is a phenom.
