Oscar looks totally different. He looked great for most of his career, I guess he's just one of those guys who needed boxing and now after it's over he's bored and not enjoying life nearly as much. Sugar Ray Leonard went through that too. His promotional company has got worse too since getting rid of Schaefer.
2007
Now
Not getting on him but he looked great back then and now every photo I see of him he's looking rough and worse for wear. Hopefully he's not still having issues. I'm not a fan of him but he did give a lot of entertaining fights to the sport and fans.

That was his whole life, his everything.
I mean think about it you're put out to pasture as a athlete when most men are just starting to get somewhere or are just really starting their life. And you're "retired" at 30 something & deemed too old to do the thing you spent your life doing. And you spent the last 20 years doing that sport so you don't have any skills really except ones related to that sport.
I can understand how athletes struggle like they do in retirement & why they stick around wayyyyyy past their fresh by date.
And sh^t man I bet the % of cats with too much money & too much time on their hands that end up with drugs being a problem in their life is a high f#cking %, athlete or not.

Oh for sure it happens to a lot of them, because it's like, you faced challenges for years and overcome them, then you've got tons of money and no challenges left. Some people would love to be in that position, but then there's others who just can't take it. There's nothing that compares to the adrenaline of being in the ring.

Oscar's promotional company seemed to be doing good for a while, but you see him talking more about Mayweather than his own fighters (a clear sign that he misses the limelight). It must suck to be in that position though, you worked for 20+ years to be the #1 guy then all you can do is watch others who are at the top, and then you see they're making more money than you did, it's gotta hurt. A lot of them come back just because that's all they want to do.
