He was talking about not being hungry and his wife wants him to retire. It was all over the media for one year. Now, 3 years later, he suddenly talks about weight being the reason that fight fell through. I think it's laughable. He just can't stand fans still put the blame on him. He should have never entertained that fight back then, because he was never serious about it.
    Froch mentioned it in 2015.

Of course Golovkin couldn't go up to 168 at that time though. After he just demanded 164 for Ward.

Yet Ward doing much worse to Dawson was fine.

Yep because he took a risk. Mr 154-168 said no to a CW for Brook months earlier.

As reported earlier, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) says he is dead serious about fighting IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' G

Mr. 154-168 didn't want to fight below 160 or above 164.

Froch asked Cleverly to come down at one point. Said he wasn't big enough since Bellew would bash him up in sparring. Even if it's true, asking someone like Froch to come down two pounds, when he gets in the ring only 4 pounds above he's weigh in weight ain't a big deal. Asking someone to come down 5 or 8 is a bit of a piss take.

Didn't Canelo ask him to come down 5lbs? Bit of a difference.
