Comments Thread For: Trout: Hurd Not Ready for Me; Opponents He Beat Not on My Level

NEW YORK Austin Trout was impressed with the heart Jarrett Hurd displayed by stopping Tony Harrison in his last fight. Trout thinks Hurd was losing to Harrison before he came back to win by ninth-round technical knockout and captured the then-vacant IBF junior middleweight title February 25 in Birmingham, Alabama. The former WBA 154-pound champion also commended Hurd for embracing an optional defense of his title against an accomplished, experienced southpaw who's still in his physical prime.

I like both fighters I remember pulling for Hurd when he fought Frank Galarza and have been a fan since. And I followed Trout since Cotto but oh well it's boxing. I think I'll go for Hurd, trout had his chances he lost to Lara and then I think he should have beat Canelo but he got clipped and then it was over.

I wasn't impressed with Hurd. Maybe I need to watch some more of him.

Tony Harrison is more dangerous of a fighter than Trout. The problem is that Tony isn't the smartest fighter.

Trout is crafty enough to give Hurd problems but lacks firepower.

Wow, they actually went ahead and did it...I was pretty sure they weren't going to throw the kid Lubin out to the wolves against Charlo. It's the less vicious brother, so he might avoid a real beating.

Trout has a much better mental make up than Harrison. Harrison cant keep composure when the going gets tough. Trout is comfortable in deep waters.

I like Traut. He definitely ain't no punk, but I think he might be ripe for the picking.

Hurd will beat Trout clearly. Mark my words. People need to look at Hurd's other fights, he is a genuinely solid fighter.

Harrison was looking so good until he got careless and started fighting ******. Trout most likely won't be the one to capitalize on Hurd's flaws but unless Hurd learns from his mistakes, the upper level of the division should hand him a loss. Good thing for him Jermall moved up
