Respect to Joyce. 10 rounder too. That could go south for him real bad if he's not conditioned for 10 & he doesn't take him out early.

Also nice to see Venom Page making his pro debut. Super curious to see how he looks like in boxing. This is another MMA guy for you MMA haters to hate lol. He's probably more creative in the cage than Jon Jones & actually has his head screwed on right unlike Jon, he's done kickboxing before so he'll likely transition into boxing easier unlike Conor McGregor, but he's also going to be fighting a much lesser challenger so thats not gonna hurt his showing here obviously.

a 10 rounder against Ian Lewison is a serious debut lol.

Fair play to him. Obviously he isnt a young man so needs to be fast tracked, but most would be looking to get those debut nerves out the way in an easier bout.

If his stamina and chin are good enough to reproduce his amateur style in pros, he will be great fun to watch and nightmare for many opponents.

Most pro's don't have ten rounders until their 15th fights at least and wouldn't go near someone like lewison. I wish Joe Joyce well.

Lewison has close to zero chance to win this . Its not a risk at all . Its simply a match that Haye thinks Joyce can get some rnds in , its nothing more than a sparring session for Joyce like it was for Whyte .

In short Joyce can get double rnds in this one knowing Lewison presents little danger .

Dangerous first fight for Joyce, so lots of credit to them. This ain't no joke here, we're gonna find out a lot about this guy real quick.

And lol at this line, Ian Lewison said: “I’ll certainly show Joyce that I’m south London’s finest – they don’t call me ‘Lay ‘Em Out’ for nothing. After I’m done with him, I’ve got my eyes on his boss.”

Would be funny as **** if Lewison KO'd Joyce and then went after Haye ringside

LOL I think a lot of boxing fans are too cynical or need to watch a replay of Haye vs Pretty Ricky Conlan. Sh^t happens in fights every day. No one has a 0% chance to win.

But I get your overall point all the same. They think highly enough of Joyce to throw him in a 10 rounder with a guy who's been been past the 6th round once when 95% of promoters would never put a pro debuting guy in that position.

                "CLOSE to zero "

I dont think much of Joyce either at the moment compared to the hype he has around him. Hes robotic and SLOWER than any current top HW and eats counter shots bc he pauses between throwing punches .What he has is a good chin at 6'6 240 and he can punch with decent technique . Lewison has a 50% K.o record and is called "Lay'em out " ? Who hes laid out is anyones guess to have that nick name !

                Lewison has16 fights in 7 years !

Its a huge mismatch and getting beat up his last fight isn't going to do anything for him here against a fresh Joyce who is arguably top 10 material now considering i have Miller at 10 and hes about that level in skills . Easy fight for Joyce , Lewison ? Not so much .

good first test but joyce is one of the best amateurs to turn pro for many years, should outclass lewison. At his age theres no point feeding him scrubs, start him off at domestic level and he'll be at the world level very soon. Haye must have seen enough of him in the gym and know enough about the heavyweight scene to know that joyce will do fine here.

I mean do we really need to bust the balls of the one HW who's taking the biggest jump in class from amateur to professional that I've seen in idk how long?

Is there a few dozen guys I'm not remembering that have taken an equal or bigger jump up in class?

Can we not give the guy some credit for opening his career with a 10 rounder?

Is everything about diminishing everything a boxer does from first fight to last lol?

This glass half empty boxing fan stance is soooooo old & boring & just false.

Thats all I'm really trying to say. Its like nothing anyone does can be appreciated sometimes.

I for one LOVE these amateurs turning pro as of late from Rigo to Loma to Benavidez to Usyk to Beterbiev to that Japan flyweight with all KO's to Joshua a couple lil guys who's name I can't say to Joyce right now who are doing big things earlier in their career with less fights than most past guys have done. I think this guys are making boxing better & taking more risks & reaching more rewards because of it. And respect to them for making boxing more interesting by not fighting 20 guys with peglegs before they have their first real fight like 80% of the rest of the promising guys we see.

Bit of a rant there my bad, but sh^t man I hate seeing a guy damn near getting dogged for doing bigger things then most cats are doing 20 fights into their career.
