Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Laughs at Critics Who Feel Golovkin is Getting Old

Abel Sanchez, head trainer of IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), is shocked at the recent flood of opinions from critics who believe his fighter is getting old. Golovkin, 35 years old, has certainly looked more vulnerable in his recent fights. Last November, he defended his titles against Kell Brook, who was moving up by two full weight divisions from 147-pounds.

ya hes getting old but i been surprised how much of a gut he has had in the build up commercials has he always had a gut going into training camp? I might be overthinking it I just feel like in the past he has stayed fit in between fights if you watch the countdown show hbo did hes not exactly fat but there is no doubt hes alot softer then I ever remember seeing him. Maybe he had an injury or something we didnt know about that made it hard to stay in full shape. I have no doubt hell be fine come fight night but I do think hes going to have a bit more trouble cutting weight for this fight then normal that and add in his age and it could potentially benefit the younger Canelo.

Canelo beat the overhyped commie GGG-going going gone

Look for a surprising Canelo victory over the commie over rated GGG.

BHOP is irrelevant. He wasn't eating shots to the head like Golovkin does.

But anyway, Golovkin has definitely lost his boyish face. And now he walks around with a big ol' gut.

I'd say he's old, but not necessarily shot. But he will be soon.

What's funny Is that, those who criticize him about his age, are his own fans making prefight excuses for him in case canelo wins... that's funny

It's funny how GGG haters have been saying he's old for 2 years now, then crying about "excuses" when anybody else even mentions his age.
